5 Skin Care Myths Busted

If you think you have everything figured out with your skin care, think again. There are many things that are shared around that are just not true when it comes to skin care, or are slightly off the mark.

Below I have busted a few of the myths, and listed some facts, that are currently believed by many, including some big names, which I will NOT BE naming here.

(If you find this post helpful a like or tweet will be really appreciated, thanks.)

Fact or Fiction?

Fiction: While applying products such as vitamin A, tretinoin etc will make the pores appear smaller, they actually do not change in size, but the skin becomes tighter making them appear smaller.

Also when you use steam to open the pores it is not actually the pores becoming larger, but the blood vessels dilate, while the pores remain the same size.

Fact or Fiction?

Fiction: No matter what the whether is, if you plan on going out you should apply a sunscreen because UV rays are always a danger, whether it’s hot or not.

If you do not like to apply a sunscreen because the way it feels on your skin looking for a new one is the best idea, because there are so many different one’s out there these days you are bound to find one that suits you and your skin.

And remember, applying sunscreen today will keep your skin looking youthful in many years.

Its’s Never A Good Idea To Mix’n'Match Skin Care Products

Mix'n'Match

Fact or Fiction?

Fiction: While it’s true different products use slightly diffident ingredients, this makes no difference.

I always mix’n'match products for my skin routine and have had no negative effects from doing so.

One of the best ways I like to mix products is with my green clay mask, where I will sometimes add Argan oil if I want it to help with my acne marks, or honey if I want it to help with my current acne breakouts.

Fact or Fiction?

Fact: It’s always tempting to pop pimples as soon as they appear right, but the problem is you risk getting acne marks because of it or worse.

To find out a safer way to pop pimples check out “Bobby popping pimple popper” technique.

If you have no choice to pop a pimple make sure you are as gentle as you possibly can be to minimize any risk of problems.

Natural Remedies Are Useless For Treating Acne

Fact or Fiction?

Fiction: Some of the best treatments I have used for my acne have been natural remedies such as honey, green clay, aloe vera etc.

Natural remedies are not only effective but many over the counter products actually use them as there active ingredients, plus recently there was a study that showed thyme was more effective than Benzoyl Peroxide for acne, which I think safely puts this myth to bed.
